R. Kelly - ‘Hairbraider’
If you think the Pied PipeR (Kelly) releases a new promotional picture without a song talking about how he got his new look you’re kidding yourself.

ME: Kells is back. Ahead of schedule.
The iTunes Store leads the pack with 19 percent, Wal-Mart (which includes the brick-and-mortar stores as well as its online properties) is second with 15 percent, and Best Buy is third with 13 percent. Amazon is a distant fourth at 6 percent, trailed by the likes of Borders, Circuit City, and Barnes & Noble.
Congratulations, Apple! It’s always good when Wal-Mart’s monopsony power is reduced.
ME: From Hits -
CHANGING THEIR iTUNE: The Big Four music distributors confirm that Wal-Mart is still the #1 music retailer, not Apple’s iTunes, and are wondering where the NPD Group, which made the original claim, got its information. All four acknowledged that they are billing more with Wal-Mart than Steve Jobs’ online store. (4/8p)
The NPD Report was funny to me because of this line:
“[The Report] includes a screenshot of an Excel file showing the top ten music retailers in the US for January 2008, and Apple is at the top of the list.”
Right. NPD took a snapshot at music billing in January of 2008. Here’s what happens during that time:
A. iTunes sees redemption OUT THE ASS of iTunes Gift Cards from the Holidays
B. The Major Labels are facing huge returns (not a liability for iTunes) due to overshipping during the holiday buying season
C. The Major labels aren’t releasing new records (why would they?)
…it’s back to tranquil domesticity here at the old clam shack. My roommates had never really heard of Tumblr and were a tad skeptical, “There’s gonna be a party for bloggers here Saturday?” I knew from the last Meetup at Fat Cat that it was going to be a fantastic crowd, some friends of ours and some fascinating new people. And what a smash! We all had a damned fine time.
5-course Dinners / 5-hour Parties are difficult to pull off; it could not have happened without the help of Nora, Eric, Kevin, Nick Gray, Lee, and everyone else who brought charm, wit, sophistication and revelry times triplicate to the W&L.
Bartender Nick made somewhere between 260-280 cocktails from 8pm to 3am. 22 bottles of wine (the dinner crowd had most of those), 16 liters of beer, and one bottle of Colombian firewater that showed up at 1am and damned-near obliterated me. But who’s counting, really?
Cheers to a great crowd and some brilliant new friends.
Does anyone else have a blackberry pearl? And is anyone else as obsessed with BrickBreaker as I am? Just curious.
ME: Don’t have a pearl, but I’m obsessed. My high score is 24,020. Your turn!

Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals, too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time
ME: Leona’s second single in the UK…”Better in Time”
Don’t say I didn’t give you the heads up!
Love you,
